Employment

Maintaining the pressure for full employment

Employment has become one of the main objectives of the European Union. Professional and managerial staff have been hit hard by unemployment, though not as severely as other groups of employees. Despite the creation of many jobs (around 10 million during the period 1995-2001) unemployment remains at much too high a level (around 12 million in the E.U. 15 countries at the beginning of 2004). Therefore, efforts to achieve full employment must not be abandoned. It is a permanent and active priority for EUROCADRES. All sectors and all levels of work are concerned.
