Trade Unions
In the public service there is 90% + union membership. In the private sector approximately 25% are unionised.

Most American multinational companies which set up in the last 10 years are non-union as are a large number of small Irish employers.

The Irish Congress of Trade Unions is the one and only national centre. All trade unions (with one or two exceptions) are affiliated to it.
