General Information

How to find accommodation (Belgium)

In Belgium, 68% of the housing is in private ownership and 32% is rented.

When you want to rent a house or a flat, you can rent it furnished as well as unfurnished.

Finding a house/flat to rent in Belgium is not that difficult:

  • You can watch out for the orange ‘for rent’ signs
  • You can go to an estate agent
  • You can look for advertisements in the general or specialised Belgian newspapers and press;“VLAN” (http://www.vlan.be) is a paper specialising in small ads (jobs, accommodation, items for sale), as is “The Bulletin” for English speakers.
  • Check http://www.immoweb.be

To buy a house or a flat, it is best to contact estate agencies. Prices are considerably higher in Brussels than in other cities.
