Frank Bsirske underlines the importance of Social Europe
ver.di president Frank Bsirske addressed the mobilnet advisors at their meeting in Berlin on 13 February.
Frank Bsirske presented the ver.di campaign for a legal minimum wage, underlining the necessity to combat the development of a large number of working poor. He proposed a strengthening of the social agenda in the European institutions so that the European Constitution would find a better acceptance among the workers of Europe. He also underlined the current negotiations for collective agreements to raise wages according to the floating economy, balancing the fact that wages in the last years had decreased. He emphasized the need for trade unions to cooperate on a European level in order to maintain and / or improve the social standards, improve the coverage by collective agreements, avoid social dumping and contribute to the peaceful development of Europe. Mobilnet, EUROCADRES's network of mobility advisors, is a good example of such an initiative, according to Frank Bsirske.
