Conference: Workers' Mobility - what role for the social partners?

20/09/2006

On 14 September EUROCADRES took part in the conference and presented the ENGCARD project together with FEANI. You will also find Andrew Watt's presentation for download.

At the conference various projects by social partners were presented. The trade union side underlined the need for positive conditions for mobility, the fact that mobility must be voluntary and the necessity for rules that prevent social dumping.

Various projects by both trade unions and employers' organizations were presented, belonging to three main topics: information and transparency, qualifications passports (this is where EUROCADRES and FEANI introduced ENGCARD) and the enforcement of mobile workers' rights.

In the workshop 'The impact of mobility on employment, productivity and career development, Andrew Watt, researcher at the ETUI - REHS, talked about 'A framework for thinking about cross-border mobility in the EU and a first look at the figures', the presentation of which you will find below.
